Families and small groups will find Padraig's Cottage works well for a week away without fuss. The whole property is yours—two bedrooms sleeping four, one bathroom, and everything on ground level. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly, there's a utility room with a tumble dryer, and the living room has a TV and Freesat. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, so you arrive to a ready home.

The cottage sits at the edge of Loch Roag with views toward the Uist mountains. Howbeg beach, known for its white sand and wildflower-covered machair, is half a mile away. This part of South Uist draws people who want to walk, fish, or simply watch for wildlife—corncrakes, hen harriers, seals, otters and golden eagles are regularly seen. The nearby ruins of Howmore's churches mark centuries of island history. The Outer Hebrides are connected by causeway, making it straightforward to drive to Harris, Lewis or North Uist for the day. Benbecula, a short drive north, has shops, restaurants and an airport; Lochmaddy on North Uist has a museum and outdoor activity centre offering sea kayaking and diving. Boat trips run to St Kilda and the Monach Isles when weather permits. There is parking for two cars on site and an enclosed garden. No smoking indoors.
