Fantastic campsite here at Otters edge. The warden is a great guy, was given a full explanation of the site and facilities. The facilities are really good, toilets are showers are pristine. Showers are push operation, no coins are required, very warm and good to be in. Good washing room with everything you need in it. The hotel a 5 minutes walk up the road does decent food at a reasonable price. This site also benefits from a beautiful beach close by, watched seals there this morning and there wasn't another person on it. Great place to stay, highly recommended.

What a super friendly and clean campsite. It was lovely to be met on arrival and shown to my pitch and Dave even helped guide me on to my levellers (although the pitches are pretty level) and supplied a longer electric hook up lead. Diane & Dave are so helpful and run a lovely site. And Diane has some pretty stitch work available to buy in ‘the holt’. There’s spacious, bright shower cubicles and a campers’ kitchen and Diane will also put awash in for you (£5) and there are drying lines. A short walk takes you to a beautiful dog friendly beach.

This level site is behind the dunes and near the beach. We received a friendly welcome. The facilities are kept clean but dowdy and there is no heating or natural light. The heat of the water in the showers is not adjustable and they are push button ones. There is lovely walking along the coast from the site. The Dark Island Hotel is only five minutes walk away (although the owner very kindly gave us a lift there). The restaurant here was a pleasant surprise. It serves excellent and tasty food in an elegant restaurant with lovely staff. The vegan menu was varied and good.

Dave + Diane are absolutely top notch people. Stayed here for four nights (planned for two!) when our van broke down on Benbecula. They were very flexible and helpful even taking us to the co-op and advising on things to do. The campsite has nice showers (no fee) and a washing machine (£5) but I would take Dave’s advice on whether it’ll dry next time…. 🤣 Cheers both we hope to be back when next visiting the islands. All the best, Harry + Emily
