Very beautiful place, so peaceful. Amazing mansion filled with the history, original furniture, lots of artworks. Very knowledgeable and engaging volunteer guide's, we spent at least 15 minutes in each room learning about the history and origin of this place. Very beautiful matured, well maintained gardens. Woodland stranding the place provides many spaces for individual needs - scenery, peace, variety of plants, hidden benches under big umbrellas of trees giving space to reconnect with the nature. Plenty of space for own picnic or you can buy fresh and tasty food from their café. You can purchase their organic products grown at the estate gardens It is a very popular place so advise to come early when they open to get a full benefits of the place. Highly recommend for a day out

We only visited the gardens, which are beautiful, but the grounds are very extensive. There are multiple interesting walks in and around the estate, through fields and woodland, so if you like walking this is definitely a good property to visit. We enjoyed coffee and lunch at the cafe, the food was good and service prompt. There is also a free water tap for refilling water bottles. It was an extremely hot day, so the ice-cream stall was really appreciated and we were pleased there was plenty of shade and grass to sit on near the house. The grounds and gardens are dog friendly too, which was a real bonus.

Went to do an estate walk where you do not have to pay to enter, but the beginning path through a field was shut for cattle, so we either had to walk down the drive and along the road and back up a lane, or pay for a garden ticket to just cut across the drive. The ladies in the reception hut were very helpful. We went for a gorgeous walk, with varied scenery, and then made the most of our garden ticket and went to the lovely tearoom for lunch.
