The Dairy

The Dairy is a thoughtfully converted barn in Alresford, near Winchester. Ground-floor living means no stairs to navigate. The main space combines kitchen and dining areas, with a sitting room that opens onto a patio. The kitchen is fully fitted—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, and a washer-dryer, so you can manage everything from cooking to laundry without leaving the property. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and electricity are included.

Two bedrooms sleep four: the first has a king-size bed with an en-suite shower, the second a zip-and-link bed (two singles on request). A family bathroom with bath and shower serves the second bedroom. Natural light flows through the property, which benefits from being single-storey and deliberately designed with comfort in mind. There is parking on site. No smoking is permitted; one pet is welcome.

Alresford itself is known for watercress farming and the heritage Watercress Steam Railway. The town sits on the Itchen Way, popular with walkers and cyclists, and near several nature reserves and forests. Winchester lies 8 miles away. Local pubs and shops are in nearby Cheriton, with more restaurants and tea rooms in Alresford's Georgian centre. Hinton Ampner, a National Trust property, and various golf courses and fishing grounds are within reach.
