Angel Lodge

Angel Lodge occupies its own corner of Hawton Waters, a gated estate spanning 40 acres of grassland that overlooks a 14-acre fishing lake. The whole place is yours alone—ground-floor accommodation with an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, one bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a bathroom with both a roll-top bath and walk-in shower. French doors from the bedroom lead to a private deck overlooking the water, furnished for morning coffee or evening meals.

The lodge is designed around calm, considered details throughout. The kitchen has electric cooking facilities for proper meals. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with parking for two cars on site. A five-minute walk along the farm track brings you into 170 acres of private woodland with river walks and lake swimming. The estate sits within a national long-eared owl monitoring scheme, and roe deer move through the grounds regularly. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

For days away from the lodge, Newark Marina is within reach for riverside walks, and the castle and its gardens are open to visit. The combination of seclusion and accessibility makes this a straightforward choice for a quiet couple's break.
