Bloody Bridge Campsite

Absolutely 5 stars. Bloody Bridge Campsite is a little slice of magic — killer views, lush green shaded areas, and a mix of tents and campervans that gives the whole place a calm, easygoing feel. Being only 5 minutes from Newcastle makes it perfect for grabbing food, heading out for a walk, or just exploring at your own pace. Conor was so friendly and genuinely helpful, welcoming us for a late check‑in and assigning a fabulous tent pitch. The campsite is spectacular and so peaceful. We can't recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

We had a lovely 2 night stay here in May 2026 with our 2 dogs, the campsite has stunning sea views with lots of shady spots under the trees to keep the dogs cool. Great location to walk Slieve Donard from and convenient bus to/from Newcastle. The staff are super friendly and helpful, even went as far as doing us a check-in video so that we could check in late after our drive from Dublin port.

We have a touring caravan and stayed for 4 nights and honestly I cannot wait to go back. Conor was so helpful and nothing was too much bother. Everyone was lovely and the atmosphere was brilliant and views to die for. Already planning our next trip ASAP. Highly recommend. This is my new favourite place ❤️

Stayed here in motorhome for two nights on 8th of May. It's a steep drive up to some of the pitches and we witnessed some vehicles struggle to get up the hill. You need to book via text/Whatsap/phone, so be specific if you want space to put up an awning. The views are excellent, and the owner very friendly and sends you a video of where your pitch will be. However, the site is badly let down by the campers kitchen and toilet/shower facilities. The kitchen are is basically out in the open, beside the toilet block, with a corrugated plastic roof. It is easily the worst I have ever seen. There is a ladies toilet and shower, a disabled toilet and shower, a gents toilet and shower, a shower room, and a toilet and shower at the rear of the block. The shower/toilets have no soap dispensers or hand drying facilities, and there is nowhere at all to put your clothes/toiletries except in the sink or on the floor when you are having a shower. We used the shower in the motorhome for only the second time since we got it. The shower/toilet at the rear were unreal. There is obviously a plan to put extra toilets at the back ( see videos ), but the current one is a corrugated steel shell built on top of decking with a clear corrugated plastic roof with gaps in the floor planks for shower water to run through, but it doesn't, thereby leaving a lot of water sitting. The door, I can only describe as a garden gate, through which you can see into the toilet. This is a nice site, and there is obviously work being done to create extra pitches etc, but it is badly let down by the campers kitchen.and toilet facilities which look like the owner is trying to do on the cheap. Invest properly in these areas and it would definitely score a five star.
