About Harbour House Newcastle
Harbour House sits directly on the South Promenade in Newcastle, run by the Connolly family who have traded from the site for over forty years. The building combines eight ensuite bedrooms - single, double, twin and family rooms - with a restaurant and bar downstairs, including the South Prom Brew Bar and a terrace overlooking the water.
The kitchen leans on fresh, local seafood alongside a broader bistro and fine-dining menu, making the hotel as much a dining destination for locals as a place to stay. Function space is also available for small events.
Its position on the promenade puts guests within a few minutes' walk of the beach, harbour and town centre, without needing a car for a short seaside stay.

We loved this restaurant. Views overlooking the water, plenty of parking (alrhough Friday eveningwas extremely busy!). The staff members were few in numbers but were attentive and worked so hard to ensure everyone was accommodated and fed and supplied with drinks. The food was amazing. I had their seafood pasta and my partner chose the steak. I always like to try local ales but the choice on this occasion was Maggies Leap, a local IPA which was light and refreshing. Full marks for the atmosphere and enthusiasm.

Harbour House and the attached bistro ‘South Prom’ are well worth a visit! My wife and I love taking our kids for breakfast or lunch to South Prom. The food is delicious; the staff are always friendly and helpful; but most of all the view from the balcony is lovely! It’s covered to, so it’s a great spot to sit with a coffee even when there’s light rain, and you can take in the sights across Newcastle Bay.

Popped in for early supper with my son and his girlfriend. Not busy for a Monday night but homely atmosphere and a lovely fire going. Food was good, well presented and tasty. A small ribs, Seafood pasta and scampi in beer batter were ordered. Friendly attentive staff. Could not fault one thing. Would definitely go back again. Dog friendly too 😊
