Small and cozy family-run hotel. Friendly staff, top breakfast, convenient location, overall amazing --- just don't come in expecting a fancy 5-star spa swimming pool experience as that's not what this is. 4 stars to the rooms as the bed's rather small. Everything else perfect.

I booked Dorset Arms Hotel as part of a walking holiday for guests taking on Hadrian’s Wall. The room was comfortable, the food good, and Stan gave them a warm welcome which made for a lovely start to their trip. I’d recommend the Dorset Arms to anyone walking the Wall, it’s just a 20-minute stroll to Segedunum Roman Fort and the start of the Hadrian’s Wall Path.

Very good. Engaging and kindly host. Nothing was too much trouble for him ! Had time to spend chatting with his guests. And there were quite a few when we were there.
