About Orchard Stables
Orchard Stables offers a surprisingly peaceful overnight stop just 20 minutes north of Newcastle, tucked behind trees on the edge of Cramlington. This adults-only spot is home to friendly farm animals – you can watch them from a respectful distance while parked up in the horse riding arena. There's some road noise from the nearby A189, but the excellent road links make it brilliantly placed for exploring Northumberland's castles and coast, or diving into Newcastle's culture and nightlife.
Facilities are straightforward: water supply, flushing toilet and bins, though there's no chemical waste disposal. A footpath opposite the site leads into Cramlington Nature Reserve for a quick leg-stretch, while pubs, takeaways and Indian restaurants sit just a few hundred yards away. The main bus route runs past for car-free trips into town. It's a handy, no-frills base for touring the region or breaking a journey north.

Great location as heading North to Scotland. Easy to find and good pre arrival info given. The site is basic as described. Great value for money as a stopover in the motorhome. Nice to see the horses, pigs and chickens. Bought some eggs through the honesty box.

Great little site which will take the biggest motorhomes. Basic facilities so suit fully self contained units although there is a functioning WC in the stables. Overnight is £10 payable to the lovely friendly Jo or use the Honesty Box if she’s out. Fresh eggs also sold on the same basis. We will definitely return.

Great, no-frills stopover on the north side of Newcastle. Fresh water, toilet and washbasin. No waste disposal. Nice friendly owner.

Great family owned stables, we booked on for a camping trip to visit family and do some sailing. Great location, 20 minutes into tynemouth and 8 minutes to Ashington. Very friendly and welcoming family and would 100% book to camp again. (Also some very cute farm animals about) Thank you and see you again soon!
