Amazing site,quiet, clean,Seaview, public park/space at the side of it, everywhere within walking distance less than a mile, that's ok if you can walk, (south shields).

A great campsite right on the front at South Sheilds. A small area for tourers but impeccably kept as are the toilet and shower block.

First time staying at Sandhaven in south shields in our motorhome. The touring pitches are all very well kept, hard standing and level. At the pitch you have electric, fresh water, and grey water drain. On site there is a toilet block and usual elison point, but there is no "club house". This isn't too much of an issue as there are pubs in walking distance. It does mean that the site was silent, and we had a great night's sleep. Staff were very polite and helpful when checking us in. The only thing I would ask for is a gate (key code or key fob) at the beach end of the park, as the only entrance is at the opposite side, meaning you have to walk out and around to get to the pubs / beach. This wouldn't be great for my elderly parents If they came in their van. If there was this access I'd easily give 5 stars. Being a bit more sprightly, I'd be happy to stay here again.
