About Porth Lodge Hotel - Guest House

Porthbean Road sits within easy reach of Newquay's beaches, and Porth Lodge Hotel makes the most of its position with a garden and free on-site parking for those arriving by car. It's a straightforward base for exploring the Cornish coast, with the town's attractions nearby.

The guest house has 16 rooms, comfortable and well kept, though some are on the compact side, so it suits those who don't need much space to spread out. A restaurant and bar are on site, and breakfast is a particular strength, with a generous spread to set guests up for the day. Free WiFi and luggage storage cover the practical side of things, and the property also hosts weddings and welcomes pets.

Service throughout is attentive, and the rates represent solid value for the area. An on-site bowling alley adds an unexpected bit of fun for guests looking to fill an evening without leaving the grounds. Beyond the lodge, Newquay's beaches and local attractions are within easy striking distance.

Stayed there recently on a solo getaway, having known the place for years but never stayed there. Very good value for money. Breakfast was really good and quite expansive (no complaints at all!). A few points to note They did give me a small double instead of a single which i was so glad of havent slept in a single bed since I was a teenager. Was clean comfortable and everything you could ask for for the modest price. Very quiet and I slept really well ( and im a notoriously bad sleeper!) I arrived early and they did let me check in which was really nice of them, I would say the reception/greeting I got was very lukewarm/basic ( which is fine as Im not very emotive as a person but others might expect a more effusive welcome!) I was ok with it tbh preferring to keep myself to myself. I never got to try the evening menu or the bar which is a regret on reflection. I enjoyed it and the tv had all the apps etc - unfortunatley the reception in porth is abysmal, would probably stay in newquay next time but I love Porth & Whipsiderry beach just didnt get a chance to go to either as the weather was very on/off! All in all though really nice stay - recommended

Came purely for the bowling alley and we all had fun, thought they were closed but we managed to find a gentleman who opened up the alley. The kids really enjoyed it which is the main thing

Didn't realise that it had a bowling alley when I booked it, but the noise wasn't too bad. Corridors are a bit tired looking, but the rooms are really nice (at least my room was). Decent cooked breakfast included in room rate.
