Woodland and lawn pitches in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, with plenty for children

About Clippesby Hall

Clippesby Hall sprawls across the grounds of a country house in the heart of the Broads National Park, midway between Acle and Potter Heigham. Around 115 pitches are divided into eight distinct areas – open grassy lawns where families can kick a ball about, secluded woodland hideaways in The Dell, and fully serviced hardstandings in Rabbits Grove and The Heath. The variety means it's worth studying the site plan before booking, because the character of your stay changes dramatically depending on which paddock you choose. Some visitors note that facilities can feel a little tired in places, but the wooded setting offers welcome natural shelter when coastal winds pick up.

On-site entertainment runs deep: two grass tennis courts, a football pitch, mini-golf, archery, a treehouse, bike hire and cycle trails, plus two play areas that keep children occupied for days. There's a shop, café and bar, though no swimming pool. BeWILDerwood lies nearby, and the boatyards at Potter Heigham and Horning are a short drive – ideal for exploring the Thurne and Bure. Great Yarmouth sits twenty minutes east when you need a rainy-day backup.

WOW! What an absolutely amazing hidden gem. Stubbled across this place while on a bike ride from the broads (only a few miles away) We stopped off for pizza while our kids played mini golf and went on the play area. Staff were super friendly. Fast service, tasty food. We will definitely look to go back and camp

My 68 year old Mum stayed by herself at this campsite recently. She was very happy with the location and facilities. She was looking forward to staying for 2 nights and using the base camp resturaunt for all of her meals so that she could fully relax and unwind after having just lost her Mother, who's funeral was the day before. She told the reception staff who greeted her that she was looking forward to her stay, she did not bring any food and intended to eat all her meals in the resturaunt. The staff said "that was lovely", but did not mention anything about having to book. If she was told she had to book, she would have. My Mum enjoyed a very nice evening meal the first night and breakfast in the morning. However, on the second evening she went to the restaurant and was refused any food because she had not made a reservation. She told two members of staff that she had no food with her and she had not been told that she needed to book in order to eat. Both members of staff refused to sell my Mum any food, including take away food of any kind. This is terrible customer service, and very dissapointing. Based on her first 24 hours stay, my Mum had already recommened the site to many of her friends and family including myself. I had intended to book for my family and friends to the stay on the site this summer. I was shocked to hear this story on her return. I find it hard to believe that my Mum could not have been accommodated in some way, and instead was left to go hungry.

One of our favourite campsites. Beautiful site, well maintained. Facilities are 5 star as are the staff. Basecamp is a great place to chill out for a coffee or beer. The food is great too. Back for the beer fest in September and then again for the New Year and we only live 10 minutes away. 🤣👍

A great, friendly place. Kids had loads to do and was a very relaxed calm atmosphere. One of the best campsites I've been to in England. We went as a group of 13 kids to grandparents, some were in one of the accommodations and some in a tent. House was great. The only thing to be aware of is that the onsite shop is pretty non existent. Shouldn't put anyone off but just to be aware of.
