What visitors say
The hosts are absolutely lovely and rearranged my booking after I turned up two weeks early! The site is beautiful with nice big pitches leaving plenty of room between campers. Each pitch comes with its own fire pit and if by the woodland, you also get a private wooded area with a picnic table. The facilities are clean, there is hot water for washing up and a couple of plumbed toilets. I would definitely give a 5/5 if there were also plumbed showers. The shower setup still works, using the hot water in a bucket and a recharge water pump. I actually loved that part of it and think its a lovely quirk, but equally if here for more than a couple of nights I can imagine the novelty soon wearing off. I would love to come back and stay very soon. Thank you very much Magpie Meadow, see you again soon!

A truly lovely campsite. Offers a perfect hybrid between wild camping (beautiful meadow vibe) with useful and thoughtful additions (2 flushing loos, a place to wash up, electric hook up, benches, firepits etc). The best part is it has a limited number of pitches so you aren’t on top of your neighbours. Super peaceful. Thank you Tina and James for the thought and care you have put into designing your site for people who love nature.

Just spent a fab bank holiday there with our 3 dogs, loved that each pitch was marked out in the wild field, each pitch was very spacious and not on top of the next one. Whilst you could say the facilities are basic, they fall in with camping, the cleaning sink was very large and always had hot water, the toilets and showers were very clean. The town was less than half an hour on foot. Despite the camp site being fully booked it was still a very quiet break. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for the August bank holiday.

The host was amazing and the place was beautiful. We had such a lovely time spending quality time with the family. Everything was perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay.
