Holmbyre Smithy

Holmbyre Smithy comes with the essentials covered: bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, electricity and heating are all included, plus the first load of wood for the burner. The kitchen is properly fitted out with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, so you can cook as much or as little as you choose. A welcome pack arrives with you, and there's a travel cot and highchair if you need them.

The cottage itself is a detached property on a single level, with three bedrooms sleeping six. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and its own ensuite shower; the second bedroom has a double; the third has two singles. There's a further shower room with a walk-in shower, and a living room with a woodburner and smart TV. Outside, you get a private hot tub for six, an enclosed front garden, a back garden with sitting area and furniture, and parking for two cars. No smoking indoors.

Location-wise, the cottage sits in rural Ayrshire near Dalry, within reach of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs nearby, and the region has castles, gardens, golf courses and historic sites associated with Robert Burns. Ayr is a short drive away, and Glasgow and Edinburgh are manageable for day trips.
