Blackwaterfoot sits on Arran's western shore, where sandy beaches meet the village's working heart—a golf club, hotel with leisure facilities, a butcher and convenience store all within reach on foot. The village faces across to Kintyre and catches some of Scotland's finest sunsets. From here, you can explore the whole island's contrasting terrain: sheltered beaches, forests and dramatic peaks in the north, plus outdoor activities from sea kayaking to mountain biking.
Tighnamara is a detached house where everything happens on the ground floor. The main living space combines sitting area with woodburner, dining zone and open-plan kitchen equipped for real cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer all there. Four bedrooms sleep eight: two with kingsize beds and their own shower rooms, two with pairs of single beds sharing a family bathroom with bath and shower. A travel cot and highchair are available. The kitchen opens onto decking; a larger patio garden faces northwest. You have private parking for two cars, and one dog stays free. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. No smoking inside.
The location works for families wanting beach access without driving, groups of friends who can spread across bedrooms, or anyone using the island as a base for a few days rather than staying put.
