About Kinloch Hotel
Kinloch bills itself as the original west coast hotel on Arran, and its position at Blackwaterfoot, around 30 minutes from the Brodick ferry, gives it sweeping views over the water rarely matched elsewhere on the island. The hotel mixes traditional bedrooms with self-catering apartments, giving families and longer-stay guests some flexibility.
An on-site swimming pool and leisure facilities are unusual for a hotel of this size on Arran, and the restaurant runs a seasonal menu built around local produce. The hotel also hosts weddings and small conferences, reflecting its scale relative to most of the island's other properties.
Its west coast location makes it a sensible base for golf at Shiskine, the standing stones at Machrie Moor and the newer Lagg Distillery, all a short drive away, for visitors who want to explore beyond Brodick without doubling back across the island each day.
What guests say
The meal was really tasty and the portions were generous. Service was very good as well. It was our most expensive dinner in the whole island but there are not really many places open for dinner on that side of the island until 8pm so sometimes hotel dinner it's your only option. You have to book well in advance as well as it gets really busy this time of the year. Service charge is added in you bill as well.

I was on a walking holiday on Arran. The hotel was a great base, cooked breakfast was great, evening meals were a bit more upmarket than what I'm used too, but my only complaint was that there was too much. The hotel bar is shared with a public bar, and the price in both bars is the same. £4.70 for a pint of Landlord, is £2 less than what it will cost you in Edinburgh.

We went in the restaurant for lunch only and it was very good. Really tasty, plenty of choice of foods and drinks. The waitresses were really friendly and service was excellent! I would definitely recommend this place for some food. Agathe the French waiter was particularly nice and very good!
