West Buckland is a quiet village in the heart of rural North Devon, surrounded by countryside and connected to wider attractions by lanes rather than main roads. Little Gubbs sits here as a self-contained retreat, sleeping two in a single bedroom with a bathroom that has both bath and walk-in shower. The ground floor is open-plan, with a kitchen equipped to cook properly (electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave) and a living space centred on a wood burner, with a Smart TV if you want it. An enclosed front garden with patio furniture and a barbecue gives you outdoor space; there is parking for one car on site.
The bedroom has a zip-and-link super king bed, flexible enough to separate into two singles if needed. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and wi-fi are included. One dog can stay free of charge. The cottage does not permit smoking.
From here, the Tarka Trail for walking and cycling is within reach, and South Molton's independent shops and cafés are nearby. The North Devon coast—with its beaches, cliffs and coastal paths—lies roughly 40 minutes' drive away. Barnstaple, the larger market town, offers more amenities for supplies or a day out.
