Barnstaple's shops, restaurants and cafés sit within easy reach, but North Hill Cottages – Willow pulls you away from it all onto 8 acres of communal gardens and open fields. The cottage itself spreads across two floors: a ground-floor living space with woodburner and kitchen equipped for proper cooking, plus three bedrooms (one with ensuite) and two bathrooms upstairs. It sleeps six and is yours alone – no shared walls with other guests.
The grounds matter as much as the building. You'll find a hot tub (shared with a small number of other properties), an indoor heated swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna, children's play area, games room and all-weather tennis court. The back garden has seating and furniture for quieter moments. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. Two parking spaces come with the property. The cottage is non-smoking.
Families with younger children benefit from dedicated play space and indoor games. Those after peace get it in spades – the scale of the site means you're rarely crowded, and the fields offer room to walk without leaving the grounds. Equally, Barnstaple itself is close enough for an afternoon out when cabin fever sets in.

We stayed here over Easter with a family of 4. Wonderful location for exploring North Devon and stunning views from the accommodation. The cottage was lovely and cosy with the log burner and had recently been refurbished. The kids loved having access to the pool and hot tub and Rich and Sabrina were great hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed. They even put on an Easter egg hunt for all the kids staying there in the Sunday. Will definitely be going back! Thank you!

The most idyllic location! The cottages are beautifully kept, wonderfully equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfy, with the most fabulous views across the valley and sheep as your neighbours. No light pollution so the stars are phenomenal and all you can hear are the birds. It's a wonderful place to unwind, recharge and enjoy being surrounded by countryside. But only minutes away from the town. Sabrina and Rich couldn't have been more helpful and compassionate when we had to stay in very devastating circumstances.

Had a lovely long peaceful weekend here, lovely views over the fields in all directions. Pool is really nice and has a small sauna and hot tub next to it too, and the rooms/cottages are really nice. We stayed in Ivy a 1 bedroom with front room and bathroom, full kitchen and TV so all you could want for a peaceful break. Acces is narrow for the last 1/2 a mile so don't bring a large vehicle.

What a fantastic tranquil setting. We stayed in. Harvest cottage along with our cat which was fantastic we were able to take him his favourite spot looking out the window. The property was very clean and welcoming a nice touch with the logs for the 🔥 We didnt get chance to use the facilities as we're down for a wedding. We woukd definitely come back and cant recommend north hill cottages highly enough. Thankyou Sabrina and family for having us see you again
