Ring of Bells is a fully equipped ground floor apartment in Newton Abbot, run as part of a working pub. The property sleeps four across two bedrooms—a king and a double—each with its own bathroom. One has an ensuite shower; the other is a family bathroom with a bath and shower over. Both have heated towel rails. Everything you need is included: Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels, so there are no hidden costs or forgotten essentials to worry about.
The layout is practical for a short break or longer stay. A hallway leads through to the open-plan living and dining area, furnished with two sofas, an armchair and a dining table. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge-freezer—while underfloor heating keeps the kitchen and bathrooms warm. All rooms are on the ground floor, accessed via a single step at the entrance. There is parking for one small car on site.
The pub downstairs serves traditional food and local beers, which means accommodation guests have somewhere to eat without leaving the building. St John the Baptist Church is nearby, and the location works well for exploring the North Devon countryside. No smoking is permitted inside the property.

Didn’t use the hotel, so can’t rate that. Fantastic little hidden gem. Food was outstanding. We had the pea soup with Welsh rarebit, croquettes and scotch egg with some fries to share - we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service was great. Lovely outdoor area and looks amazing inside too. Dogs very welcome, both inside and out!

Fabulous pub and restaurant in a classic British thatched cottage setting. Best hanging baskets anywhere! Good service and very friendly staff. We only had a snack lunch, but the quality of the sauces on the chicken and prawn dishes was excellent and very tasty. If I had any complaint, it was the portion size in relation to the price, which was disappointing.

A fabulous gastro pub in a lovely Devon village, well worth the drive! Fab food and great service. Chef & FoH team excellent, coped with my weird dietary requirements and had prepared a menu in advance, showing which dishes I could eat or could be adapted.

A large family group went her for lunch on a Sunday. The teenagers were noisy but the staff handled it brilliantly with a smile. All 18 of us agreed that the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonable. The setting is cute and the village really quaint with thatched cottages around. I would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.
