Instow sits where the River Torridge meets the sea, its sandy beach and long promenade backed by dunes. Teal Cottage is a semi-detached property within the village itself—the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants are all within a few minutes' walk. The North Devon Yacht Club is nearby, and the area draws sailors, walkers and surfers in equal measure. The Tarka Trail runs through the village, offering traffic-free cycling and walking routes inland.
The cottage has two bedrooms (one double, one with bunk beds) and a shower room, arranged over two floors. Downstairs, the living and dining room has an electric woodburner, Freeview and a DVD player. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge—and there's a washing machine for longer stays. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. One car can park on site. A small screened patio with garden furniture sits outside. One dog can stay free of charge; the cottage is non-smoking.
Surfers head to Northam Burrows and Westward Ho!, about 4 miles away. Bideford (2 miles) has shops and cafés; Appledore is across the estuary via the ferry from Instow quay. Adventure parks and outdoor activities—golf, fishing, horse riding—are dotted through the area. On quieter days, Instow's own restaurants and bars line the waterfront, many with views across the estuary towards Lundy Island.
