Instow sits on the North Devon coast where the Torridge estuary meets sandy beaches and the South West Coastal Path begins. The Captains House is a spacious villa within easy reach of all this—the beach and coastal trail are a short walk away, as are the village's pubs, restaurants and shops, plus the Instow Signal Box for anyone interested in railway heritage.
The house sleeps 10 across five bedrooms on three floors: one kingsize, another kingsize with ensuite, two bunks, and two further rooms with single beds. Three bathrooms are distributed through the property. The ground floor has an open kitchen and dining area that seats the whole group, leading out to an enclosed garden with patio and barbecue. Upstairs, a galleried study and a living room both have televisions. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. You get private parking for three cars and secure storage for bikes and windsurfing kit. A cot and highchair are available if needed. No smoking throughout.
The steep steps to the garden and the internal stairs require mobility consideration. One dog is welcome. The property suits extended families, two families together, groups of friends, and anyone wanting direct access to walking and cycling routes without needing a car for every outing.
