The Bobbin

The Bobbin began life as a cow shed and pig sty, and has been converted into a two-bedroom cottage that keeps its character—exposed stone walls, oak beams, and the old feeding trough all remain. It sleeps four across a double bed in one room and two singles in the other, with a bathroom containing both bath and walk-in shower. The ground floor is open plan, with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking and a living space that opens onto a patio through French doors.

One dog stays free, and the owners provide a bed, bowls and feed if you need them, plus a towel for muddy paws. The enclosed garden is lawned and fenced. There is parking for two cars on site. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The property does not permit smoking.

Walking and cycling routes start from the cottage, and Matlock Forest—dog-friendly with numerous paths—is a five-minute drive away. The Peak District edge location puts you within reach of the wider landscape.
