About Ashover Family Farm
Looking for a back-to-nature site within striking distance of the Peak District? Make haste to Ashover Family Farm, a rural pop-up campsite 15 minutes' drive from Chesterfield. You'll pitch in a well-maintained, flat meadow sheltered by trees, and while facilities are deliberately simple – portable loos (including disabled access) in the corner of the field, no showers or electric hook-ups – the setting more than compensates. The family-run farm offers seasonal pick-your-own produce, including pumpkins and sunflowers, with fair prices and a welcoming atmosphere that earns consistently strong reviews.
Dogs are welcome, and numerous walks start right from the pitches – you can reach the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor within 15 minutes by car. Ashover village, just a short stroll or five-minute drive away, has pubs, a café and a shop selling local produce. Pack a torch for tracking down the loos on starless nights, and embrace the wild camping spirit.

We had an amazing day at Ashover Family Farm! The sunflower field was absolutely stunning, such a lovely spot for photos and a peaceful walk. The maize maze was great fun too, kept both kids and adults entertained. Really friendly people and a very family friendly vibe all around. Perfect place for a day out with little ones, we’ll definitely be back! 🌻🌽

I have been here a few times for sunflowers & tulips & enjoyed every visit. There are other sunflower fields locally, and they are pretty, but I love how these tower over you. There is a food waggon on-site, loos and photo opps. My only downside was the lack of seating at the top of the field for those of us with older legs & poor mobility, but the owner is looking into it. Costs £3 to get in and £1 per bloom, which I think is reasonable as you don't have to pick anything if you don't want. There are also gladioli this summer. It's just nice to get out in real countryside & just enjoy yourself. Have been before & will go again.
