Peacock Barn

Peacock Barn works well for families wanting space without the formality of a hotel, couples after a quiet retreat, or groups of friends looking for a whole property to themselves. The barn is detached and set in Timberland village, with an on-site fishing lake and enclosed patio and garden. Three bedrooms upstairs sleep six; the ground floor has a living room with woodburner, and a kitchen with the basics for self-catering including dishwasher and washing machine. One bedroom has an ensuite bath and shower; another has its own shower room. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and initial logs are included. One dog is welcome. Note that children under 8 are not suitable due to the lake on the grounds.

The location suits those who fish—mixed fishing is available dawn to dusk, with two people per day included—or who want to cycle the nearby water railway path towards Woodhall Spa and Lincoln. Woodhall Spa itself (6 miles away) has a cinema, swimming pool and golf course. Horncastle (10 miles) is known for vintage shops. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is at Coningsby, nine miles off. Lincoln's medieval cathedral and castle are 15 miles; the east coast beaches about 35. A pub is under a mile away. Car parking is on site; there is bike and fishing tackle storage for guests bringing their own.
