Burton Pedwardine is a medieval hamlet with roots stretching back to before the Norman Conquest, and The Sanctuary sits on the owners' sheep sanctuary at its heart. This barn conversion was built from salvaged materials—the slate roof came from a nearby Victorian schoolhouse, and the timbers from old outbuildings that once surrounded the main house. The result is a stylish, characterful property decorated with an artistic touch that gives it genuine personality rather than corporate polish.
The open-plan ground floor combines living and dining space under a double-height ceiling, with a wood burner, Smart TV, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and the essentials. Three bedrooms sleep six—one king on the ground floor with its own shower room, another king on the first floor with ensuite, and a zip-and-link room that can be configured as doubles or singles. A second bathroom serves the third bedroom. Bi-fold doors open from the living area onto a rear garden with patio, furniture and barbecue, enclosed for privacy. Two to three cars can park on site, and there's a bike store. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; initial fuel for the wood burner is provided too. One dog stays free.
The location suits those wanting to explore Lincolnshire's history and countryside while having proper space to spread out. Mayfield Vineyard is nearby. No smoking indoors.
