Church Farm Cottages - Stables

North Norfolk

Lower Gresham sits deep in Norfolk farming country, where quiet lanes lead to footpaths and bridleways threading through the surrounding landscape. Church Farm Cottages – Stables occupies a converted flint barn on a private 4½-acre estate, reached by a winding drive. The setting is genuinely rural; the nearest shop and pub are 2 miles away, but Sheringham's beaches and attractions lie just 4 miles in one direction, while Holt's restaurants and galleries are 5 miles off, and Cromer's pier is equally close.

The property is yours alone: a single-storey space with a double bedroom, shower room, and an open-plan living and dining area. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking – electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer – and the sitting area has a woodburner and Freeview TV. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with logs for the stove. There is private parking for two cars on site. A courtyard with garden furniture provides an outdoor space, and a bike store suits those planning to cycle: Route 30 passes the property and connects to the coast inland routes alike.

The area draws people interested in countryside and coast in equal measure. Bird reserves at Morston and Cley are within reach, seal-watching trips depart from Blakeney, and Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park belong to the National Trust. Golf and fishing are available nearby. One dog is welcome in the property, though smoking is not.

The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable but printed instructions on how to operate the TV/DVDplayer/satellite controls and the oven would have helped. However, the owners were ever ready to respond to any queries. Parking was a problem but not of the Owners making - the one parking space was very difficult to get our car into, not helped by neighbour putting up barriers to stop driver manoeuvring into the space safely. Please don't take this as a negative review - my comments are meant to be helpful. to the Owner and any future users ofd the property.

Is a lovely cottage with great views within walking distance, you can do as little or as much as you like. Location is wonderful and the owners are responsive and friendly, full amenities within the cottage, a lovely fire place and it's nice and clean! Great for a get away as a couple, with friends or family.

The cottages are excellent, well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable and cosy. They are well positioned to get around Norfolk, close enough to the broads and also near a main town with a tesco. For kids the barn is great.
