Eden Hall Cottage

North Norfolk

The Norfolk coast near Norwich has long stretches of sand, villages worth exploring, and enough space to disappear into for a week. Eden Hall Cottage sits within easy reach of all of it—the beach is walkable, and there is proper room here for ten people to spread out without driving each other to distraction. The whole place is yours alone.

Inside, five bedrooms and four bathrooms are arranged over two floors: ground level has a kingsize with ensuite, a zip-and-link that can split into singles, and a bunk room; upstairs hold two further kingsizes, one with its own shower room, the other sharing a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The kitchen and dining area open onto the garden through French doors, and there is a separate sitting room with an open fire. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, plus the initial fuel for the fire. The enclosed back garden—high-walled for safety—has a terrace, barbecue and seating, and one dog can stay free. Parking fits six cars. Smoking is not permitted inside.

This works well for multi-generational trips or large friend groups; travel cots, a highchair and stairgates are on hand. The beach and local cafes are near enough to reach on foot, and Olde Hall is close by if you want to venture out. The garden gives children and dogs room to tire themselves out.

We visited this cottage from the 15th-18th April 2024. We were greeted by an infestation of cluster flies in the main bedroom and ensuite downstairs and an awful sewage smell throughout the house. We were staying with our 2 young daughters (3 and 5) as well as my parents. It didn't feel safe or hygienic to stay, so we contacted Gail, at Pack Holidays, who apologised and provided us with a refund. We'd arrived at the cottage at 5pm on the 15th April and unfortunately couldn't find another location nearby suitable for all of us to stay, so we had no other choice but to stay, or return home with 2 very disappointed children. We let Gail know that we'd need to stay, and she sent a handy man around the next day. He confirmed they were cluster flies, and that there was a dreadful sewage smell throughout, but couldn't get rid of either. We tried to stay out of the cottage as much as possible during the day times and only went back to sleep and sealed up our doors with towels and tape to stop any flies getting through. It was a horrible experience, and we were forced to pay £800 for a 3 night stay in a fly infested sewage smelling cottage. The owner, Chris, sent my Husband some very direct and abrupt text messages and clearly had not understood the state of the property, or the situation we were left in. Terrible customer service from the owners. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.

Stayed here for a surprise 50th birthday gathering with a group of friends. This easily accommodated 8 adults and 7 dogs. All of which got on great. Everything you need is here for a great break away or a Christmas getaway. The beach is only 10 minutes walk and very dog friendly. The early mornings on the beach are amazing with a reasonable pub overlooking the sea. Wi-Fi is good. Log fire (although it was peak heat September so we didn’t need to light it). We all had an amazing time and really looking forward to going back. I had a big chocolate cake made locally and supplied by the owner. Yummy. It could perhaps do with a hot tub or outdoor fire pit for those evenings sat outside drinking. But what a great way to spend the weekend wearing out the dogs. Fantastic.

Amazing house to host 2 to 3 families. The house is decorated very nicely and the kids loved the space in the garden. The nearby beach is amazing and there is also a little playground around the corner. We would love to come back.
