Cromer and Sheringham are within driving distance if you want the traditional seaside-resort experience, while Bacton Woods offers woodland walks and picnic spots closer to hand. The Norfolk Broads National Park is accessible for a day out on the water. For everyday needs, the village has a shop, post office café, fish and chip shop, and a couple of other eating places, plus a pub with restaurant in nearby Walcott.
