Gresham Hall Glamping - Cowslip

North Norfolk

Photo: Gresham Hall Glamping

North Norfolk's rural landscape draws families and walkers year-round, with Felbrigg Estate's parkland and the coast within easy reach. Gresham Hall Glamping – Cowslip is a bell tent on meadowland that gives you the whole place to yourselves, sleeping four across a double bed and two pull-out singles. One bathroom with shower and separate toilet means mornings run smoothly.

The tent stays warm via solid fuel heating and a wood-burning stove for evenings. Mains electricity powers the lighting and four plug sockets; bed linen comes included. A small kitchen area has a microwave and two fridges for basic meals, and outside there's a picnic table, barbecue and fire pit. On-site parking fits two cars, and an electric charging point is available. A pub sits within a mile, handily close if you'd rather eat out.

The meadow connects directly to Felbrigg Estate's back gate, opening onto woodland footpaths, a walled garden and the courtyard café. Cromer and Sheringham's beaches and piers are three miles away. Children and one pet are welcome; smoking is not permitted inside the tent.

My sister and I pitched up for one night so we could be kids again and for easy access to the coast for fossil hunting. We loved the site, beautiful location, facilities were great, our only suggestion is to reset the shower temperature to a lower setting for the summer, we love a hot shower, but water was too hot! Otherwise, thank you we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay :)

Stayed 5 nights with our own tent and loved it. Good facilities, great location close to blue flag beaches and local amenities just a few minutes drive away. There is also a fantastic camping store in West Runton should you need any essentials. Georgy and the whole team were lovely. This is the hidden little gem you've been looking for especially for the glamping experience, family friendly, clean and tidy. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful get away.

The location is fabulous. What I would say is this is glamping not camping! We were charged £10 per dog (seems fair), however the carpet and tent wasn’t cleaned so maybe the dog fees are contributing to the Christmas party fund. No hand soap in one of the toilets, freezing shower, eco washing up liquid was standard liquid from a well known German supermarket (small point but if you don’t live it, don’t advertise it!) Bed very uncomfortable. Electric cooler was full of dirty water. Maybe owners used to have excellent attention to detail which in turn resulted in rave reviews, maybe to be competitive in this climate you have to cut corners! Either way this gem can shine again, it just didn’t shine for us!

Good but not great. The signage could be improved - there is one on the main road but it would be helpful to have one in the village. I like the idea of not having cars next to tents - that was really good. More hooks in the (very small) showers and the toilets would be helpful.
