Happisburgh's working lighthouse stands just outside this converted keeper's cottage, built in 1791 and now Grade II listed. The village sits on Norfolk's eroding coastline, where cliff-top and beach walks lead in different directions, and the Norfolk Broads lie within easy reach. Wroxham is 12 miles away; Norwich 20 miles. The shop and pub are half a mile on foot.
The cottage sleeps five across two bedrooms: a king-size and three single beds. Downstairs holds a living room with a wood-burner, a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, and a dining area. The basement has been converted into a games room with table football and a DVD player—useful for days when the weather turns. One bathroom serves the property. Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a patio, seating and a barbecue, plus private parking for two cars. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; one well-behaved pet stays free.
The basement stairs are steep and spiral, which guests with young children or mobility concerns should factor in. No smoking throughout. The lighthouse itself opens to the public on some Sundays in summer, and private tours can be arranged separately.
