Honey Acre Cottage
North Somerset
Honey Acre Cottage sits on a working farm deep in the Mendips, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where the landscape rolls quietly and wildlife moves through undisturbed valleys. The farm's stone buildings—converted barns and a former miller's cottage—nestle into countryside that draws walkers and nature-watchers throughout the year. For two people seeking genuine seclusion rather than a village centre base, this matters: you're on farmland, not the high street.
The cottage is a one-bedroom property on two floors. Downstairs holds the living and dining space, which has a woodburner and a kitchen equipped for real cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge all there. Upstairs is the bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath. A patio with garden furniture opens from the cottage. Wi-Fi, electricity and bed linen are included; parking is on site.
The Mendips themselves offer immediate exploring on foot. Cheddar Gorge lies nearby, Blagdon Lake with its trout fishing and birdlife draws an hour's drive or less, and Churchill four miles away has a dry ski slope and riding stables. Bath and Wells are both within reach for a day out, and Weston-super-Mare's beach sits seven miles south. The village pub and shop are two miles away. No smoking inside the cottage.
