The park gives you a base for exploring the dales themselves. Swaledale and Wensleydale, both known for their stone villages and riverside walks, are close enough for a day out. The Pennine Way runs across the moors to the west if you want to tackle a serious hike, or there are shorter routes through the valleys. For something different, the Bowes Museum, a Victorian country mansion with an art collection, sits a short drive north in Barnard Castle.

VERY UNWELCOMING, UNFRIENDLY NO TOURING CARAVANS The site is squashed up against a large motorway thus you will NOT get any rest or solace at all but if the sounds of passing trucks is music to your ears then this site is definitely for you .....
