Through the door of Ivar, you find yourself in a two-bedroom lodge designed around comfort and space. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and the beds—super king-size—can split into twins if needed. The layout means every guest has their own shower room and somewhere quiet to retreat to, whether you're staying as a couple, a family, or friends.

The interior follows clean Scandinavian lines: natural materials, plenty of daylight from large windows, and furnishings chosen for both looks and practicality. A kitchen lets you cook properly. The main living areas open onto a terrace, and beyond that sits the private hot tub—the thing you'll remember most clearly when you're back home, soaking under the open sky while the 150 acres of North Yorkshire countryside darkens around you. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; bring what you need and settle in. The property is for your sole use, and one dog is welcome. No smoking inside.

This works equally well as a base for exploring the region or simply as somewhere to stop moving for a few days. The surrounding landscape invites walks, but the terrace and hot tub mean you won't feel obliged to leave if you don't want to.
