About The Pheasantry B&B & Campsite (Certificated Site)

The Pheasantry is a certificated campsite in Snainton, a village between Scarborough and the North York Moors. The site has showers on hand. Snainton itself is a quiet spot, but it sits within easy reach of two very different things worth a journey: the seaside at Scarborough and the market towns and walking country of the Moors, each a short drive away.

If you want beach time or amusement parks, Scarborough is close enough for a day trip. If you prefer hills, heather and proper walks, the Moors are on the doorstep. The location makes it a useful base for either, or for mixing both into a longer stay.

One of the best North Yorkshire hidden gem camp sights. A family run small camp sight. They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for a good time. We will be back again and again.

We are using one of the caravan pitches for a short break. The facilities are clean and well provided for a small five pitch place. The position away from the house is good and the view across Ryedale to the Wolds is lovely. Approach is via a narrow tree-lined driveway from a road that is itself a single track with passing places.

This place is amazing, I wild camped there a few years ago and had an amazing time chatting and cooking under the stars with animals visiting after dark. So when myself and my son decided to raise some money for homeless veterans by doing a sleep out *THE GREAT TOMMY SLEEP OUT* - I contacted them and asked if I could use their land. Even though it's out of season and they wasn't open, they said yes!!! - I added the cost of the field to our pot thanks both - we really enjoyed our evening under the stars well clouds!! Had a cheeky take away from nearby....

A rather unpleasant experience of this campsite on Saturday from the owners. A few hours after setting up with a camper and tent. We had our two dogs (one very timid Labrador and one excitable and protective Cavapoo) tethered on leads on our outdoor carpet in between tent and the camper. Dave approached our set up and in doing so our Cavapoo started to bark protectively, Dave continued onto our outdoor carpet and was looking into our camper doorway where we were sat. The Cavapoo (Still on its tethered lead) jumped up at Dave who then gave all three of us a barrage of intimidating abuse to the point that he even threatened to harm our dog if we didn’t reprimand it. A welcome from the owners of a campsite that I’ve never experienced in such a way. Not a campsite that we would ever give our money to again.
