The mews-style cottage is tucked into a quiet corner of Askrigg village, within easy reach of the shop, deli and three pubs that serve the community. A wood burner sits at the heart of the downstairs living space, with a television, Freesat and DVD player for quieter evenings. The kitchen has everything needed to cook properly—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer—rather than being fitted out for heating up ready meals alone.

Upstairs, one bedroom has a kingsize bed with an ensuite shower room, while the second holds two single beds; both rooms look across the Dales landscape. A family bathroom with a bath and shower serves the second bedroom. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included, along with fuel for the burner to get you started. One dog or cat can stay free. There is covered parking for one car on site, with additional space on the road outside.

Askrigg sits on the River Ure and serves as a starting point for several walks—the waterfall trail visits Whitfield Force and Mill Gill Force, while longer routes head up into the surrounding hills. The village itself is small enough to walk around in half an hour. Smoking is not permitted in the property.
