Borrings Cottage
North Yorkshire

Hawkswick sits deep in the Yorkshire Dales, where dry stone walls divide moorland and the Pennines rise in every direction. Borrings Cottage is a limestone building from the late 1700s at the heart of the village, its stone weathered by two centuries of fell winds. Inside, exposed beams and a working woodburner mark its age, but the place functions as a modern holiday home with everything needed for a week away.
Three bedrooms sleep six: one with a king bed and ensuite shower, one with another king, and one with two singles. The three bathrooms mean no queue for the shower. Ground floor has a living room with smart TV and woodburner, a dining room, and a kitchen with an electric Aga, dishwasher and coffee machine; the utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, a second living room opens onto the garden. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with fuel for the fire.
The enclosed back garden has a patio and seating area. Two cars can park on the property, with garage space for one more. One dog is welcome at no extra charge. The cottage does not permit smoking. Walkers and cyclists use this corner of the Dales constantly; the village has a pub and easy access to the broader national park.
