This former barn conversion sits on a working farm in the North Yorkshire countryside, within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park. The property is yours alone—a separate dwelling with its own drive and entrance, enclosed garden with patio, and parking for two cars. One dog stays free of charge.

Inside, everything is on the ground floor. The open-plan living space has a wood burner (logs provided), sofas and a dining area that flow into a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, and all the usual appliances. Bedroom 1 is a kingsize with an ensuite shower; Bedroom 2 has two singles. Both bedrooms have Freeview TV. The main bathroom has a bath and heated towel rail. Underfloor heating runs throughout, and wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. A cot and highchair are available if needed.

The location suits walkers and cyclists particularly well. The surrounding moorland offers routes up Cringle Moor and the Wainstones along the Cleveland Way, plus Roseberry Topping and Carlton Bank are nearby. A shared picnic area by the river is at your disposal. Middlesbrough town centre is within reach if you need shops or services, but the setting itself is rural and quiet. No smoking inside the property.

Lovely clean cottages, fully equipped for self catering. The owner, a dairy farmer lives and works on site. They have a herd of 300 Friesland cows. Can be a bit smelly but that's life on a dairy farm. Surrounding country side is beautiful with easy access to the Yorkshire Moors. Nearest village is Great Ayton about 2 miles. There's a train station there with direct link to Middlesbrough and whitby. This is a lovely ride across the moors, with standard fares, and a lot cheaper than the north Yorkshire heritage line. We spent a week there and really enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely go back there time permitting!

Spent 5 nights in Bettys Byre as a base for doing The Cleveland Way. Our host, Andrea, sent us really good directions which was just as well as we arrived in the dark. Lovely welcoming pack of wine, milk, bread, rocky road, biscuits (and midget gems😊). Do be aware that you are on a working dairy farm where the smells are natural and the working day starts early and ends late (but we didn’t mind). Really comfortable and well equipped.

Always a pleasure going to these holiday homes. Very clean and everything you need while away from home. The owner leaves you basic staples for the start of your stay. Andrea the owner always makes a point to say hello. These homes are on a working farm so the the sight, sound and smell of cows is a given but won't put you off your stay. It's the ideal place to recharge your mind, body and soul. We as a family love it.
