Derwent House Apartments - Broxa is a two-bedroom apartment in a converted Victorian townhouse on South Cliff, Scarborough's quieter side of the bay. The whole property is yours, sleeping four across two double bedrooms. Both rooms have televisions; the second bedroom has its own en-suite shower. The main bathroom has a shower over the bath. A lift and stairs both lead to the first-floor flat, which is accessed via four steps at the entrance.
The open-plan living space combines a fully fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. You can cook properly—there's an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and a coffee machine, plus a wine cooler if you're stocking supplies. Two sofas face a 55-inch smart TV with Freeview. A feature electric fire and a tropical fish tank add to the atmosphere. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and heating are included; one parking permit for the street comes with the flat. A terrace with garden furniture overlooks the street.
Scarborough town centre is close by, with the heritage tram running down to the South Beach and golden sand. The castle, North Bay, restaurants and the Stephen Joseph Theatre are all within reach. The property does not allow smoking.

If you are looking for a luxurious stay in Scarborough, look no further than Derwent House Apartments. This hidden gem is truly one of a kind. As someone with family in Scarborough, I’ve experienced a wide range of hotels, guesthouses and apartments over the years—some good, some not so much—but none have been as spectacular as this. We stayed in the Ganton Suite, which is spread over two floors. It is a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite complete with a fully equipped kitchen that had everything we could possibly need. The lounge area was equally stunning, featuring a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a cozy living flame fire that created the perfect festive ambiance. Every detail was carefully thought out, making the apartment feel warm, welcoming, and indulgent. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to step into such a beautiful space for the Christmas period. The experience far exceeded our expectations, and we truly felt we had been treated to a slice of luxury. What sets Derwent House apart is the perfect combination of elegance, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment you arrive, Claire the owner ensures that you’re made to feel like a cherished guest rather than just another booking. Whether it’s the spacious, beautifully appointed rooms or the attention to detail that elevates every aspect of your stay, this place truly stands out. The apartment was simply breathtaking - so thoughtfully designed, with so many personal touches. My family and I enjoyed playing the board games provided together and I much appreciated the nespresso machine in the mornings! The host Ben went above and beyond to meet our every need whatever the hour, very charming chap. We barely wanted to leave the apartment as it was simply so stylish, however when my husband managed to get me away it was only a short stroll to the beach. Can’t wait to book again for our wedding anniversary, thank you Ben.

I stayed here with my partner just before Christmas. Ben the host was great to arrange with as we’d never been to Scarborough before. The apartment was stunning, and had everything you could need for a long weekend away, we are already looking to book again for the summer with a large group of friends.
