Foxholes sits in the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, where the landscape stretches in open fields punctuated by the wildlife—boxing hares and deer are common sights at dawn. Elm Tree Cottage at Cottage Farm is a restored rural home sleeping two, entirely on the ground floor with its own lawned garden, patio and private parking. The cottage keeps its traditional character while offering modern comfort: the living space has a wood burner, a 50-inch TV and French doors opening to the garden; the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking with an electric oven, dishwasher and washer-dryer; the bedroom holds a double bed; and there's a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial logs for the burner. A welcome pack arrives when you check in.
The Wolds Way, a 79-mile walking route, runs nearby, threading through villages and countryside from Hessle to Filey. The area is also known for the landscapes that inspired David Hockney's paintings, and cyclists will find plenty of rewarding routes through the farmland. The east coast is a 20-minute drive away—Bridlington with its working harbour and Sewerby Hall, Filey, Scarborough, and Flamborough Head are all within reach. The Bempton RSPB bird sanctuary is a short drive too. The cottage is non-smoking, and there are 5 steps within the garden itself.
