About Old Octon Farm Lodges
Seaside days, scenic country walks and a generous helping of luxury define this small East Yorkshire glamping retreat on a working farm in Octon village, 20 minutes from the Bridlington and Filey coast. Surrounded by pretty pastures and open skies, it's ideal for relaxing breaks spent soaking up fresh air, sunset-watching and stargazing. Several pubs and restaurants dot nearby villages, with more options in Driffield, 15 minutes away.
Each smartly kitted-out lodge features a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, full cutlery), dining area and barbecue for alfresco meals on your front deck. Luxurious touches abound – rainfall showers, welcome sparkling wine and chocolates, Freesat TV, wifi and proper insulation for year-round cosiness. Families and well-behaved dogs are welcome, though note there's limited on-site entertainment for children, making this better suited to those seeking peaceful countryside immersion than non-stop activities.

What visitors say
A wonderful place to stay, tucked in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Mandy and David are lovely hosts, and the sheep provide a welcome view away from city life. The lodge is well appointed (we stayed in Buttercups) with a 2 ring hob, cooker, microwave and fridge as well as a bathroom with a shower and a huge bed. The sofa concerts to a bed also if there are more than 2 of you, and the little welcome gift is a really nice touch. Being able to make a cup of tea after driving here is amazing. If wanted, you could upgrade to access the hot tub, whilst watching the sun set to the soundtrack of sheep and British birds. Cannot recommend Octon Farm Lodges enough. York, Whitby, Scarborough and Hull are each no more than an hour's drive away, and there are local pubs that serve good food also.

Absolutely fabulous very clean & everything you could want in the cabin. Lovely touch with the wine & chocolates. Very peaceful loved watching the dog working with the sheep. Highly recommend. Thanks to David & Mandy

Amazing place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet (as long as you don't mind sheep bleating 😁). Lodge is comfortable and well-equipped.

Buttercup's is a cosy, homely lodge in a stunning setting. It has been thoughtfully designed by the owners (Mandy and Dave) to maximise space. For example, the mattress (very comfy) sits on a raised platform - plenty of room for storing your 'stuff' underneath it. Also, there's a combi boiler, so hot water is available on demand. All towels were provided. This was a bonus as Pitchup advises you to bring your own. In the undersink cupboard there's a dishcloth, sponge, washing up liquiid and cleaning products, so again no need to bring your own (there's hand soap in the shower room). We brought our dog Monty with us. There are some wonderful dog-friendly beaches nearby (particularly Fraisthorpe and Hunmanby Gap). Dave and Mandy are friendly hosts who are dedicated to ensuring their guests have all they need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. A box of Maltesers was waiting for us on arrival - a lovely touch, especially as they are my favourite!
