Former Methodist Church
North Yorkshire
Airton is a small village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, positioned between the River Aire and access to the Pennine Way. The Former Methodist Church, built in 1896 and converted into holiday accommodation, sits in this walking and exploring heartland. The building retains its original character—stained glass windows, exposed beams and high ceilings run through it—but the interior has been fitted out for contemporary living.
The property sleeps 10 across five double bedrooms, one with its own ensuite. Downstairs there is a living and dining room with smart TV and pool table, plus a well-fitted kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and the usual appliances for self-catering. Two further bathrooms serve the upper floors. Heating comes via an air source heat pump with underfloor heating; Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. There is parking for three cars on site and an enclosed garden with seating. One dog is welcome and stays free. No smoking throughout.
The village location makes it straightforward to reach walking routes, historic settlements and the landscapes the Dales are known for. Families, friends or multi-generational groups will find enough bedrooms and space to spread out, and enough to do nearby that you need not venture far.
