Gayle Lane Cottages - Watersedge
North Yorkshire
Photo: Google Maps
Watersedge is a mid-terraced cottage sleeping four, positioned on a slope overlooking the lower waterfalls of Gayle Beck. You'll enter a ground-floor living and dining room with wood burner and a fully equipped kitchen, then climb to two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles—and a bathroom with both bath and shower. The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, linen and towels are all included, along with wi-fi and the initial load of logs for the burner.
A garden terrace faces the water, with allocated parking for two cars (one on-site, one 150 yards away). The cottage sits on the edge of walking country; the Pennine Way is accessible from the property, and there are routes suitable for various abilities. Hawes—a market town with shops, pubs and restaurants—is a 10-minute walk downhill. The Wensleydale Creamery visitor centre and coffee shop are closer still. For days out, Aysgarth Falls, The Forbidden Corner and Bolton Castle are all within reach, as is Lake Semerwater for fishing and water sports. Note that there is a fenced river in the garden, and smoking is not permitted.
