North Yorkshire offers everything from market towns to moorland walks, and this converted 1850s farmhouse sits perfectly placed to reach them. Glebe Farm Cottage stands on an arable farm surrounded by open countryside, yet Northallerton is only eight miles away. The location works equally well as a base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales or North York Moors, with footpaths starting from the property itself.
The cottage sleeps seven across four bedrooms: three zip-and-link doubles that split into singles if needed, and one single bed. Two bathrooms serve the house—one ensuite to the first bedroom, one main bathroom. Downstairs has a living and dining room with a woodburner, a separate sitting room with an open fire, and a kitchen fitted with electric cooker, Aga (available November to April), dishwasher and American fridge. The ground floor also contains a separate toilet. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial logs for both fires. An enclosed lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and barbecue opens from the back, and there is parking for five cars plus a car port for two. A highchair is available for younger visitors.
This works well for multi-generational trips or groups of friends wanting their own space to cook and gather. The garden gives somewhere to decompress between days out, or simply to sit with coffee before heading towards Richmond, Yarm or one of the nearby walking routes. No smoking throughout the property.
