Delph House is one half of a converted 17th-century farmhouse on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage has five bedrooms and two bathrooms, with space for ten guests across a full property to yourselves. Ground-floor accommodation includes a living and dining room with TV and DVD player, plus a woodburner with initial fuel supplied. The kitchen comes ready for cooking: electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher are all here. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wi-fi are included, along with electric storage heating. The bedrooms split across two floors—one double on the ground level, then a four-poster double, two further doubles, and two rooms with single beds upstairs.

The property sits in a quiet village near Skipton, within reach of Bolton Abbey's ruined priory and walking country. Haworth, home of the Brontës, is 12 miles away; the Yorkshire Dales Railway and Worth Valley Railway run closer still. Skipton itself has a medieval castle, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal for boat trips, and pubs and restaurants to explore. A shared orchard garden with lawned spaces, play area and picnic tables belongs to the cottages, and there is private parking on site. The property is non-smoking. Cots and highchairs are available, and a shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer serves both cottages.

This is a lovely old typical Yorkshire house full of charm and character. Wonderful open fire for cosy evenings, very comfortable home ideal for a family with 2-4 children as there's a large safe garden also. I would have rated 5 stars if it had at least a second loo and hadn't advertised as a having a view across the valley. This was the selling point for my booking but in fact there's no view now. Maybe many years ago when the trees were young?
