North Yorkshire's lake country draws walkers and those seeking quiet corners, and Halcyon sits within that landscape—positioned back from the water with views across it and the surrounding hills. The single-level lodge feels contemporary inside, with large windows framing the outlook and sliding doors opening onto a private patio. A log-burning stove anchors the open-plan living space, where there's room to cook, eat and settle in together.

Two bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that split into singles if needed; the third is a fixed king. Both bathrooms are en-suite or shared accordingly. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The hot tub sits in the enclosed garden—the kind of thing that justifies lingering outside even when the weather turns. One dog is welcome. No smoking inside the property.

This is a base for exploring nearby market towns or following the walking routes that thread through the region, or simply a place to retreat to for a few days of doing very little. Check-in is after 4pm, departure before 10am.
