The Howardian Hills form a designated area of outstanding natural beauty between the North York Moors, Yorkshire Wolds and Vale of York. Helmsley, a traditional market town, lies close by, as do the village of Hovingham and Castle Howard. This stone barn, converted from a former granary and attached to the owners' home, offers first-floor holiday accommodation with its own entrance and a private sitting area overlooking the shared garden.
Inside is a combined living and dining space with Freeview TV and CD player, a kitchen with electric cooker and microwave, one bedroom with a zip-and-link bed (which can be configured as two singles), and a shower room plus separate toilet. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are provided. The sitting-out area with garden furniture opens onto countryside views, and there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
Walking routes abound throughout the hills, and the Yorkshire Dales, coastal resorts and York—18 miles away—are all within reach. The nearest shop and pub are three miles distant.
