Stayed overnight for my birthday. Booked last minute as we were keen to spend the day itself in the York area rather than driving! Turned out to be a fantastic decision and we both really loved it. Beautiful pub and village. Gorgeous setting. Comfortable, tasteful, clean room. Quality drinks and food served in lovely surroundings. Very happy to recommend and will definitely return again in future, hopefully to one of the rooms with a hot tub!!

Booked last minute as we'd missed last food orders at our first choice pub, what a gem! Had a meal off the a la carte menu the starters and nibbles are some of the best I've ever had and the mains were fabulous too! If you're in the area I'd highly recommend a visit.

Had an overnight stay at the Durham Ox, Crayke. We had an absolutely lovely time. We stayed in the room called Field, which was full of character and old beams. The furnishings were beautiful and tasteful. The room was spotless and we had everything we could have wanted for our stay. We had dinner at night, the food was excellent and the dining room was decorated for Christmas which made it feel warm, inviting and had such a welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast in the morning was beautifully cooked and presented. The pub sits at the top of the village and we approached just as it was getting dark, it was decorated with big Christmas trees with hundreds of lights, it looked amazing. Whoever did all the work to make the pub look so lovely from the outside must have worked extremely hard. We loved our stay and we will be back. Crayke is a picturesque village located in a great position to visit many places. Thank you to all the staff at the Durham Ox for making our stay so enjoyable.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here a week ago to celebrate my husband's birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely, staff friendly and there was a good choice of wine and real ales. We will definitely come back. (We aren't local. We came especially from Beverley after reading the good reviews).
