Built in 1890, Holme Crest is a terraced cottage that sits on the steep cobbled street of Staithes, one of North Yorkshire's most photographed fishing villages. The property stands directly on the Cleveland Way with the beach and working harbour just 100 yards downhill. It was refurbished in 2020 but retains the character of its original purpose as a fisherman's home, surrounded by the colourful stone cottages that define this coastal settlement.
The ground floor contains an open-plan living and dining area with a wood-burning stove, plus a kitchen with electric cooker and full-sized fridge. Upstairs, three bedrooms sleep five people: a double on the first floor with its own shower room, and on the second floor a bunk bedroom and a single room. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. The property has its own enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a chiminea. A public car park is 400 yards away, and the village's pubs and shops are within walking distance. One well-behaved dog is welcome. No smoking throughout.
This location suits families and groups wanting easy access to the beach and the village's working harbour, as well as walkers tackling the coastal path. Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby are all nearby.
