Keldholme Shepherds Hut is a single timber structure built in the style of a traditional shepherding shelter, though fitted inside with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It sits on the edge of countryside, just outside the North Yorkshire market town of Kirkbymoorside, within reach of the moors and positioned as a gateway to walking and cycling routes across the landscape.

The hut is all on one level and open plan: a living area with woodburner and 24-inch smart TV flows into a dining space and kitchenette, where a two-ring hob, microwave, fridge and workspace let you cook simple meals. A double bed (4ft 6in) is positioned in the same open room. The shower room is housed in a separate small attached hut, with a cubicle shower and heated towel rail. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, electricity and logs for the burner are included, along with a welcome pack.

Outside, a sheltered garden has seating under cover and a separate area with a fire pit and barbecue for evenings outdoors. There is parking for one car on site. One dog can stay free of charge. The property does not permit smoking. From here you can walk to the North York Moors, visit the market town itself, or drive to Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay.

Booked two nights stay in this lovely shepherds hut. If you are after somewhere to chill, relax and unwind then I highly recommend this place. Please bear in mind that this is a shepherd’s hut so it is compact and not a lot of room for any large cases. However you are able to park your car next to the hut so you can just take what you need. It is a very cosy hut and the hosts provided more than we expected. You are greeted with a welcome hamper. Milk, tea, coffee and sugar is provided. The fridge is very small so bring additional means of keeping any fresh food cold. They also provide plenty of firewood for the log burner and the outdoor firepit. Local amenities are very close by and within 15min walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
