Squirrel Cottage

Thornton Dale is one of North Yorkshire's most appealing villages, with a stream, duck pond and tree-lined green at its heart. Squirrel Cottage sits down a quiet lane within easy reach of the village centre, where you'll find local shops, tea rooms, pubs and takeaways all within a five-minute walk. The setting puts you close to Dalby Forest—excellent for cycling of all levels—and the Heritage Coast is a short drive away. York, Pickering's steam railway, Helmsley and Kirkby Moorside are all nearby, while Scarborough and Whitby beaches lie within 20 miles.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: one with a king bed, the other with two singles. There are two bathrooms, one with a roll-top bath and one with a shower cubicle. Downstairs holds a living room with an open fire, a kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven, and a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered, along with initial fuel for the fire. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger children.

Outside, a courtyard garden has furniture and a barbecue. One small dog can stay free, and parking is on road. The cottage does not permit smoking. Beautiful walks start from the door, and there's a play park a few minutes away.
